I started this blog to follow how we use food to make sense of Brexit. The blog collates news about food and Brexit. It also tries to analyze how food figures in our understandings of Brexit, Britishness and Europeanness, in rationales for what we are doing and what is at stake. Because everyone needs a bit of light relief, I’ll throw in a few recipes from the (currently) 28 member states.
Aside from being Brexit Food Blogger, I Ā do research and write about food and other stuff. Like many other people of my generation, I grew up partly thinking of myself as European although my direct experience of the Continent was mainly limited to a caravan holiday in the Benelux countries. This opened my eyes to exciting new food and drink such as Orangina, chocolate sprinkles on bread and mayonnaise with chips. I will write for money.
